Course Overview
How it works:
Sharing ideas with other parents is key to this course, with case studies and real-life scenarios grounding the discussions. Each session includes time to plan and reflect on changes you’d like to make, with an opportunity from session 2 to discuss progress.
What’s in the course?
We begin by exploring the transition from childhood to adolescence and how to meet your teen’s emotional needs. You’ll learn how to connect with your teen during this time of change, understand your parenting style, and encourage responsibility. We’ll focus on improving communication, managing conflict, and developing negotiation skills. In the final session, we’ll reflect on how our responses can influence behaviour and discuss the values we want to pass on, while creating lasting family memories.
Session titles:
Session 1 – Understanding Teenagers
Session 2 – Emotional Wellbeing
Session 3 – Communication
Session 4 – Parenting Styles and Boundaries
