We focus on helping children build the skills and confidence they’ll need as they move towards school with excitement and curiosity. Our goal is to support each child in becoming happy, confident, and ready to take on the world, while developing the foundations for a bright future.

New Era Nursery offers high-quality childcare for children aged 2 to 4 years, right in the heart of Burnley. Monday to Friday, 9.00 -12.00 our friendly, teacher-led team is dedicated to providing a fun and nurturing environment where every child feels valued. With a carefully planned curriculum that focuses on each child's unique needs, we help children grow into confident, eager learners.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory guidelines.

Ofsted 'Good' Rating

New Era Nursery in Burnley is proud to announce that it has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating in its latest Ofsted inspection, conducted in September 2025.

The report highlights the nursery’s strong commitment to early years education, praising the nurturing environment and the confidence and happiness of the children in their care.
In their official comments, the Ofsted inspector noted: “Children are happy, confident and well supported in their learning and development.”

This positive outcome reflects the dedication and passion of the entire New Era team, who work tirelessly to provide high-quality care and education for every child. The nursery’s approach focuses on creating a supportive, inclusive, and stimulating setting where children are encouraged to explore, grow, and thrive.

Nursery Manager Christina Lawrence said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection. It’s a fantastic recognition of the hard work our staff put in every single day. Seeing our children happy, confident, and progressing in their development is what motivates us, and it’s incredibly rewarding to have that acknowledged by Ofsted.”

With a strong reputation in the Burnley community, New Era Nursery continues to offer a welcoming and engaging space for children aged 2-4 years, supporting families and having a focus on building confidence and independence.

Funding Information

At New Era Nursery, we believe in providing quality, early years education for all and support the government funded childcare scheme. Funding helps your child thrive in our supportive learning environment and our nursery has so much to offer and contribute towards your child’s physical, social and cognitive development.

What you need to know

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to a nursery place starting the term after their 3rd birthday. Contact us for a start date.
Check your access to 2-year funding
here.
Eligible working parents of 2-year-olds can access 15 hours per week. You will need to apply via the
Gov.uk site.
Please be aware that your eligibility for funded childcare including Tax-Free childcare needs to be renewed every three months.
You will receive a reminder email to the address you registered when applying. Make sure the address is in your safe list.
If you miss the renewal date, you will need to wait for the next term before applying again.
Not currently eligible for funding? Your child is still very welcome to join our nursery family - £22 per session.

Parent Information

Key Worker – Each child has a Key Worker who gets to know them and their family. The Key Worker learns about the child's interests and plans fun, personalised activities to help them learn and grow.

Attendance – To help your child get the most out of their time at Nursery, it's really important that they attend on time and for all their scheduled sessions whenever possible. This way, they won't miss out on any fun activities or learning opportunities!
Illness – If your child is unwell please contact us and let us know. If your child has vomiting or diarrhoea please don’t return to nursery until 48 hours after the last symptoms.

Snack Time

Every day, we offer a delightful selection of fruit and toast, along with a choice of water or milk to drink. Children can enjoy these at the snack table during the session. Sitting at the snack table with an adult and other children is a wonderful learning experience and a social occasion. It provides great opportunities for the children to chat with their friends and adults. We kindly ask our families to support our snack time by contributing £1 per week towards the cost. Thank you!

Learning Journey

We believe that learning continues beyond the nursery session, and our partnership with you is incredibly important. We will share your child’s experience by creating a beautiful record of your child's learning journey, capturing their wonderful experiences through observations and photographs. These will be compiled into your child's special file. When your child moves on, this file will be yours to keep as a cherished memory of their time with us.

Each week, one child is chosen as our "Star of the Week." Before their special week, we’ll ask for some information to plan activities tailored to them. Throughout the week, we’ll record a few of their activities and share these with parents, along with their next steps for learning.
