First Aid at Work
This Qualsafe accredited First Aid at Work, Blended learning training course, is for those who wish to be workplace First Aiders and to be compliant with a health and safety (First Aid) regulations 1981.
This course provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed to become a confident First Aider at work, including how to provide appropriate care and know the actions to take in a First Aid emergency situation. Candidates will also learn, the knowledge and be able to demonstrate, life saving techniques. They will be competent to recognise and deal with injury and illness in the workplace. You will complete one day of online learning in your own time and then spend two days onsite with us, where you will be assessed undertaking the practical elements of the course, (The Blended learning (online section) must be completed before attending the practical session).
De-fibrillation and EpiPen training is included in this course.
Candidates must be able to understand and speak English, as assessments are in English.
Course Overview
This training course will provide delegates with the underpinning knowledge and practical skills that they need to be a confident First Aider at work.
- Roles and responsibilities of the First Aider
- Assess an emergency situation safely
- Provide First Aid to a unresponsive casualty
- Provide First Aid for a casualty who is choking
- Provide First Aid to a casualty with external bleeding
- Provide First Aid to a casualty who is in shock
- Be able to conduct a secondary survey
- Appropriate record keeping
Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty with:
- Injuries to bones, joints and muscles including head and spinal injuries
- Conditions affecting the eyes
- Anaphylaxis (use of EpiPen)
- Sudden poisoning
- Minor injuries, burns and scalds
- Suspected chest injuries
- A suspected major illness

Qualification Outcomes
Your First Aid at Work certificate will remain valid for 3 years.
