Key worker – Each child is given a Key worker  who will build up a close relationship with them and their families. The key worker will collect information about their key  children’s  interests, play and learning  and the key worker will then plan experiences for their children’s  learning journey.

Attendance – For your child to get maximum benefit from their time in Nursery it is important that whenever possible they attend on time and for all their allocated sessions .

Illness – If your child is unwell please contact us and let us know. If your child has vomiting or diarrhoea please do not return to nursery until 48 hours after the last symptoms.

Snack – We have a selection of fruit  and toast to eat each day and a choice of water or milk to drink. Children can access these at the  snack table during the session. Sitting at the snack table with an adult and the other children is an important learning experience and a social occasion. It promotes opportunities to chat with their friends and adults. We ask our families to support our snack time by paying  £1 per week towards the cost.

Sharing information – We know that learning doesn’t stop at the end of the nursery session, therefore our partnership with you is of great importance. There will be lots of opportunities for us both to share information about what your child has been learning. We aim to build up a picture of your child’s learning journey by capturing some of their wonderful learning experiences through observations and photographs. These will be put together into your child’s special file. When your child leaves us, the file is yours to keep as a celebration of your child’s time with us.

We have a system of “Stars of the week” in the setting and all children take turns for it to be them. Prior to your child’s special week you will be asked for relevant information about them and specific activities will be planned for them. During their special week a sample of the activities they are engaged in are recorded and shared with parents and carers and their next steps for their learning are discussed.

Education – We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory guidelines.
