We are pleased to announce that New Era has been awarded funding for the Annexe Project through the National Lottery Community Fund. This funding, made possible by National Lottery players, will be used to support our work providing emotional health and wellbeing support to children, young people, and their families across Burnley and the surrounding areas.

Community Fund

What is the National Lottery Community Fund?

The National Lottery Community Fund uses money raised by National Lottery players to fund projects that make a positive difference in communities. Each year, the fund supports initiatives that help improve people’s lives, create opportunities, and strengthen local communities. We are grateful to be part of this effort and to continue delivering much-needed support to those who need it most.

Funding for the Annexe Project

The funding we have received will be invested entirely in our Annexe Project, which plays a central role in providing emotional health and wellbeing support to children, young people, and families in our community. The Annexe will offer a safe space where individuals can receive support for a range of emotional and mental health challenges.

We will provide low to medium intensity mental health support using various therapeutic methods, helping children and young people cope with their emotional struggles and improve their overall wellbeing. This funding allows us to expand our services and meet the increasing demand for mental health support in the region.

Our Approach to Support

At New Era, we offer a range of therapeutic interventions to support children and young people in managing their emotional health. The Annexe Project will focus on delivering these services:

  • Therapeutic Play: This type of therapy helps children express their emotions and work through issues in a safe, supportive environment.
  • Counselling: One-on-one sessions with qualified counsellors provide guidance and support for both young people and their families.
  • Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): CBT is an effective therapy that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns that may be affecting their mental health.

These services are designed to provide the right level of support to individuals, helping them improve their emotional wellbeing in a way that suits their needs.

What the Funding Will Help Us Achieve

This funding will allow us to expand and improve several aspects of the Annexe Project:

  1. Increasing Therapeutic Sessions: We can offer more therapy sessions to support additional children and young people, helping meet the growing demand for mental health services.
  2. Improving Facilities: The funding will help us enhance the physical environment of the Annexe, creating a more welcoming and supportive space for families and individuals who need help.
  3. Supporting Families: We will provide families with tools and resources to continue supporting their children at home, reinforcing the work done during therapy sessions.
  4. Workshops and Group Sessions: We will run workshops and group therapy sessions on topics like managing anxiety, building self-esteem, and emotional resilience, to offer a broader range of support.
  5. Training for Our Team: We will invest in further training for our staff, ensuring they have the latest knowledge and skills to provide the best support possible.
